This is the J. Rockett Archer Ikon, the final chapter in the Gold Centaur book. Many Gold Centaur clones have been produced, but they've all been missing the now-legendary "magic diodes," a pair of unlabeled parts that have remained a mystery—until now. After obsessing over every bit of Klon-related literature on the internet, as well as inspecting our own Klon, we looked at these "magic diodes" and the difficulty of finding them. After months of research, PGS struck gold in the diode mine and obtained a cache of these parts. The result is the Ikon, a 100 percent part-for-part recreation of the Gold Klon Centaur. The sound of the Ikon is slightly more compressed than the silver Archer and warmer with the gain rolled back into the widely-used "clean boost" territory. As you roll the Gain knob up higher, you'll notice the gentle breakup and soft compression indicative of a real Gold Centaur, due to the presence of the "magic" parts; it's something missing from all the other klon clones on the market that's finally put to rest with the Ikon. Like the original Klon, the Ikon contains an internal charge pump to double the 9 volt supply to 18 volts for the klon's characteristic headroom and stacking ability. The Ikon is built right here in the USA with high quality components and just a little bit of fairy dust.
