Following the release of Sarah Shook and the Disarmers’ third album, Nightroamers, lead singer River Shook started to tinker with new songs with a different sound, and the more indie-rock-sounding record they made at home in quarantine grew into a side-project all its own! Moonlighting from their day job with the Disarmers with Mightmare, River Shook stopped into Chicago Music Exchange—joined by Blake Tallent on guitar/background vocals and synth, Ash Lopez on bass, and Ethan B. Standard on drums—to perform some new tunes off the band’s debut album, Cruel Liars, and sat down for a Q&A with CME Gear Guru, David A., for this week’s CME Session!
