Thin Lizzy "The Boys Are Back In Town" guitar lesson. For this Riff of the Day, we're using the MXR Custom Badass Modified OD for that cutting overdrive from the late 70's. The roar of the MXR M77 allows a fat tone for the opening lick while the A, B, D power chords produce a powerful punch. The Boys Are Back In Town uses a somewhat jazzy chord for the verse of this rock staple, the minor 7th, which appropriately matches the swinging beat. The Bm7 at the end of the verse (often mistaken for D) also transforms into a full, complex sound when the low E is played over it. Enjoy your daily guitar lesson.
