This is the G&L ASAT Special Deluxe No Top . You might remember our demo of the Legacy Deluxe no top, where we decided to try the ash guitar without the maple top. The new tonal flavors at a significant price reduction was a hit with everyone, so we went with the G&L ASAT Special Deluxe no top.The mahogany body is left untouched, revealing a woody tone with plenty of twang when matched with G&L's famously strong magnetic field design pickups. These high output low noise MFD's can pull out chiming harmonics and deep sustaining tones alike. Without a pickguard the G&L ASAT Special Deluxe No top has a slick look and it's finished in a deep clear red finish that highlights the lush mahogany grain, a nice contrast with the classic G&L maple neck. Its profile is a standard "C" shape with a smooth sliding satin finish on the back. The snappy sound is also maintained with a 25.5" scale length and a 7.5" fretboard radius. When combined with the mahogany body, it produces a great mix of warm singing notes and biting lead tones. Finally, the Plek process that all G&L's go through ensures an excellent playing guitar that stays precise and in tune, especially when combined with the G&L ASAT Special Deluxe 's high mass Saddle lock bridge.
