There are three great dirt boxes in the Providence range. This is the dirtiest of the lot - The Heat Blaster Distortion.
The Heat Blaster has a very handy 'Low Cut' switch to help balance out the bass at high volumes. This switch makes a big difference to the 'tightness' on stage or when you're running your amp at battle-speed volume.
The Heat Blaster shares that great Providence feel and grit that are also a unique part of the Stampede and Sonic Drive overdrives. The Heat Blaster just takes the distortion factor a few rungs higher for an all-out attack. It completes a great trilogy.
For this demo I ran my Music Man Axis into the clean channel of my Laney Lionheart amp. A Violet Design microphone and Logic 8.02 did the recording honours.
Special thanks to my friends at Providence, Japan: Emi Ohryouji, Yuki Hayashi and Takeshi Okuno.
