The Blammo! Electronics Skronk Machine is a nod to the distant cousin of the early Tonebender and Maestro fuzzboxes, the Zonk Machine. The tone of this mid 60s underdog is notoriously raw yet tight fuzztone with a distinct midrange bite and more decay that other designs from that era. Blammo! loads the Skronk Machine with the same foundation of 3 NOS Germanium transistors (MP38a) and takes this circuit to new heights with a passive high cut tone control plus all the mod cons to agree with today’s rigs. The Swell gives you plenty of output while the Fuzz has an incredibly useful range across the dial, from slightly broken up textures to Skronkin’ sustain. The tone control provides the original Zonk voicing when wide open to a touch of hair rolloff to single coil thickening. It’s true bypass relay-switching also has to option to be Momentary when held down. This lets you inject a little Skronk into any riff with the utmost precision.
Like all Blammo! pedals, the Skronk Machine has been designed with great attention to detail and each pedal leaves Portland, OR with a consistent transistor biasing, teflon coated wiring and a NOS Tropical Fish output capacitor. Check out this modern take on a classic fuzz at BlammoElectronics.com
