The infamous Bad Monkey. AKA BM. Its a pretty killer tubescreamer-ish OD for like $30. Awesome!
I start out with the volume cranked, gain at minimum, and play with the EQ. Then a medium gain, more EQing, then gain cranked more or less with some further EQing.
At the 8:00 mark I shoot for dynamics with a blues jam. I was quite impressed, using the volume knob and pick attack I got a nice mix of clean, dirty, rocking...
I'm sorry about the video, it didn't work out as well as I had hoped, too far away and too much light in the wrong spot. Guess that's why I'm not a videographer.
I'm using my PRS McCarty Standard with GFS Mean 90 pups into a Frenzel 5E3 deluxe plus III amp. Finally a cab sim of a Marshall 4x12 in Guitar Rig with a smidge of reverb.
I think its a nice dirt box. Its not boutique, the buffer is so-so. Not amazing. The distortion is okay, the higher the gain knob the worse it sounds IMO. It gets sorty ratty, scraggly, and doesn't really retain definition. But at lower gain/boost settings its very powerful due to the 2 band EQ. An awesome feature!!!! which all OD's should have. I like it.
