Need help figuring out how to setup microphones to record a piano? We recently spent an afternoon with Grammy Award-winning engineer and record producer Cameron Webb covering a variety of his favorite mic techniques. We were joined by singer-songwriter Marié Digby, who provided all of the playing examples.
Filmed at Blue Microphones HQ, this video covers both stereo miking and mono miking for grand piano and baby grand piano. For each recording approach Cameron used two Blue Baby Bottle condenser microphones.
