Music Man is probably best known for its classic StingRay bass, but its six-string electric line dates back to 1985 with the Silhouette, which remains one of the most intelligent and thorough redesigns of the Stratocaster.
Since that time, of course, many guitar legends have played and endorsed the brand, and its signature artists have included Eddie Van Halen, Steve Morse, Albert Lee and, as here, Steve Lukather and John Petrucci. These latter two players have more models than any other, adding to them with their new signatures, released in 2013.
The Luke III joins the original Luke model and the Ball Family Reserve (BFR) versions; Petrucci pips that with his fourth 'JP' model, along with various signature models in the company's off-shore Sterling by Music Man range.
The Luke III and JP13 are put through their paces in this video by Darran Charles from the band Godsticks, who are set to head out on tour with Guthrie Govan's Aristocrats in February 2014. Check out the dates and buy tickets here: http://www.godsticks.co.uk/gigs
