Configuring your Meris pedals to work with a DMC Gen3 MIDI controller is easy, but it does require a few steps.
First, we recommend a firmware update and factory reset. Firmware is on our website disasterareadesigns.com/files
Next, configure one or more of your device slots as MERIS (older firmware uses OTTO or MRC7.)
Configure JACK = MIDI and J CH = JABC or ABCD.
Turn off unused modes.
Save and exit.
Next, check your DIP switch settings inside the controller. DMC-3XL, DMC-4, and DPC-5 should be set to ON-ON-ON. DMC-6 / DMC-8 Gen3 use ON-ON-ON for MJ1, or ON-ON-ON-OFF for MJ2&3.
Finally, set up your Meris pedal by holding the left LED at power on.
Turn the lower right knob fully clockwise, and the lower middle knob fully counterclockwise. If you want to set up your Meris device to use a MIDI channel other than 1, please consult the Meris manual for information on which LEDs correspond to each channel.
Finally, connect the Meris EXP / MIDI port to the DMC MultiJack with a standard TRS or mono cable and test using the DEVICE modes. Make sure that the Meris pedal responds to only the channel you set up earlier - for the example in the video this is the A mode, MIDI channel 1.
