40 years of Hughes & Kettner - 40 years of "just doing it"

For 40 years now, Hughes & Kettner guitar amplifiers and guitar tools from St. Wendel/Germany have been delighting the hearts of guitarists worldwide.

What began in 1984 in a garage as the "crazy" idea of a few daring young men has developed in decades since into an industrial company which, is one of the most innovative brands on the guitar amplifier market and has become an integral part of the industry.

Hughes & Kettner has even played a pioneering role in many developments in the field of guitar amplification, which has had a lasting impact on the market to this day, or even led to new, previously non-existent product categories. From the first RedBox (speaker simulation for live/studio guitar miking), to the Black Spirit series with its revolutionary SPIRIT TONE GENERATOR - the combination of innovative strength and engineering skills, as well as the courage to break new ground, has always resulted in milestones that were often even pioneers in their field.

Classics such as AS64, Cream Machine, ACCESS, Attax, TubeMan, TriAmp, Switchblade, TubeMeister, GrandMeister, Black Spirit and last but not least the famous era-Acoustic-Amp series have become indispensable icons that have set new standards and are in daily use on countless stages around the world.

The customer is always at the center of all this creative power. Tailoring the best-sounding, most versatile and most efficient "tool" to the guitarist is an incentive and an obligation for Hughes & Kettner to this day. The guitarist's wish is law!

Now the company is celebrating its 40th birthday in 2024, and not without pride - but above all: filled with great gratitude! None of this would have been possible without the support of the guitarists of this world, the support and partnership with business partners and friends around the globe, and - last but not least - without the tireless efforts of the Hughes & Kettner team and employees on site in St. Wendel/Germany.

Over the years, "just do it" has become a kind of mantra at the company headquarters. Hughes & Kettner is now moving forward into the future, strengthened, delighted but also moved by what has been, and yet highly motivated and interested in what is to come. And the same applies to the future: „just do it...“
