Maxon, a Japanese company, makes a wonderful, musical compressor that I love to use in the studio. It is of very good quality so I can use it in recordings and the studio. It doesn't enhance your sound like some compressors, rather it compresses and limits your output to make for easy recordings that sit well in the mix.
