Designed as a tribute to the medical profession and specifically to honor the dedication of the staff at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, the small team of luthiers from Paul Reed Smith Guitars has designed a very special Private Stock hand-made acoustic guitar called “The 2014 Tree of Life Angelus Cutaway”. This exquisite 11-piece limited run, features an intricate fingerboard inlay adorned with Koa, solid mother of pearl,
gold mother of pearl, red coral and Arizona jade that reflects an artistically flowered, double helix DNA pattern that extends from an implied Caduceus, the familiar medical symbol with staff and snakes. The custom made rosette surrounding the sound hole echoes the fingerboard inlay pattern.
Each year PRS Guitars supports the John Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center through the One Night, One Show, One Cause benefit concert, Guitar Auction and Charity Golf Tournament. For this year’s auction, PRS Guitars donated the first of these models
to be the center point of the Benefit’s auction where proceeds support the research and work done by Kimmel Cancer Center at John Hopkins. The remaining ten pieces of the 2014 Tree of
Life Angelus Private Stock limited run will be available exclusively through PRS Private Stock Dealers, so that people who are unable to attend this wonderful event have the opportunity to share in supporting the Living with Cancer Resource Program.
The music in this video was recorded using the featured Tree of Life guitar. The untitled track was written and performed by Joey Lambert.
