Bogner amplifiers brand do NOT publish schematic diagrams of their guitar amps, so how could you change the voltage? Find out what's involved in a conversion that makes this Bogner amp 240 volts - in to a worldwide usable guitar amp. Download my schematic diagram below too.

Can this Bogner amp sound good for rock?
Watch as I take you through the main reasons why you would convert the amplifier to other input voltages and why its hard to achieve without a schematic diagram of the power transformer. Learn from my experience with trying to obtain specific information from Bogner amplifiers and one of their authorised dealers and the poor service levels that I experienced for this Bogner guitar amplifier.
I show what equipment I used to keep things safe while working on the Brixton amplifier, and the results by way of a schematic diagram of the power transformer I made showing the connections that you can download below that I created.
These conversions can make the Bogner Brixton amplifier usable worldwide, and with a few additions you could make the amp easily switchable with just the addition of one simple switch. But also importantly, once you see how easy this is to complete, it might be a simple matter to complete the conversion on other Bogner amps too. But if you're not sure don't do it!
When the conversion of the input voltage is settable the amp can be used in the USA, UK, Europe, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia.. in fact anywhere that 117, 220 or 240 volts are used as mains power. And of course you could convert any of those input voltages to 117 volts for the USA.
This 'how to' video also discusses the support aspect of Bogner as I found it, as well as showing the inside of this guitar amplifier and how it is made with the high quality components you would expect from an custom USA amp made in Los Angeles.
Lastly, do NOT attempt to complete this conversion yourself if you are not qualified to do so. Inside the Bogner amplifier there is as much as 595 volts of high tension power that can kill someone in seconds (even if unplugged!) and without the equipment and know how then this could be a very dangerous project. Take your amp to a specialist tube amp repairer and always stay safe.
Throughout this video and its associated other videos (one for the recovering of the case, and one comparing this and my other Bogner amp) I have tried to make things simple so that its an educational tool for ordinary musicians to learn more about their amplifier. But it's also worth noting my comments regarding other aspects of the Bogner Brixton amplifier such as quality and tones and pricing.
I also fitted a different preamp tube later so that the Bogner can be heard almost like two amplifiers, one standard and the other with a modified drive for other styles of music. (See part 3)

I have been told so many times about these mod videos that I has made and how they have helped different viewers to finally step up and get their amps converted or modified and how the tips and hints I have often covered have helped tremendously. This video is no exception.
Having an amplifier that you can use around the world wherever you play is not some sort of luxury, but rather more of a right, but it's sad that many companies just like Bogner refuse to install multi-voltage power transformers in their equipment to stop you doing exactly that.
