This unique Birds-Eye Maple bodied "Custom 1962" 'Hard-Tail' Stratocaster was specially built by master luthier John English at the Fender Custom Shop in February 1995. This highly unusual guitar weighs just 7.80 lbs. and has a fat nut width of just under 1 3/4 inches, a wonderful medium-to-thick neck profile (similar to a '55) and a scale length of 25 1/2 inches. Highly figured Birds-Eye maple neck with triple-bound slab ebony fretboard with 21 medium frets, inlaid abalone shell block position markers and abalone side dot markers. Three staggered-pole Strat pickups with outputs of 6.03k, 5.98k, and 6.69k. All hardware gold-plated. One of the prettiest Strats ever built. Mint in the original Fender tweed hardshell case.
