Sent back to the Fender factory in the very early seventies and re-finished in a custom natural color, this thirty-nine-year-old Custom Telecaster weighs just 7.10 lbs. Single-bound solid alder body, maple neck, and maple-cap fretboard with 21 original frets and black dot position markers. Two pickups with outputs of 5.56k and 6.14k. Combined three-saddle bridge/tailpiece. Evidently this guitar was refinished by the factory sometime between 1969 and 1972, as it was at that time fitted with the rare triple-ply (black/white/black) pickguard that was used solely on the Rosewood Telecaster which was only in production during those years. Housed in the original Fender black hardshell case (8.75). A wonderful example.
