Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today we’re plummeting into deep space with the Transmisser, from Earthquaker Devices. The Transmisser combines two effects in one: an extremely long-decay ambient reverb and a volatile resonant filter. The reverb slams into the resonant filter causing all kinds of chaos, and your signal is covered in electronic space dust. Decay, Darkness and Mix controls govern the reverb side, with Decay maxing out at near-infinite and Darkness acting as a hi-cut filter for the reverb signal. Mix controls the balance between your original dry signal and your desired amount of space madness. Within the nexus of the Freq, Warp and Rate knob is where the Transmisser is thrust into hyperwarp. The Freq knob adjusts the frequency of the resonant filter, and can be controlled hands-free with the onboard expression jack. The Rate knob modulates the entire system at different intervals for a unique sound that’s different in every position. The Warp control skews the entire structure of the Transmisser, adjusting the range of the Decay, modulation depth and overall clarity. As you might expect, all of the knobs are extremely interactive, yielding different textural results with every knob twist. And just like all EarthQuaker Devices, the Transmisser is made by highly-intelligent androids in the Ohioan system of Akron Centauri.
