This is the Supro Drive, a sonic recreation of a real Supro amp, including an actual transformer. The phase inverter, class A power section and vintage transformer saturation are hallmarks of the Supro sound, so the reborn Supro amp company realized that the Supro magic lies within the power amp section rather than the preamp. Supro then set out to reverse engineer authentic Supro amp breakup in a compact stompbox. The circuit in the Drive yields a much farther range of control than almost any overdrive on the market, from transparent sparkle to full-on hyper-saturated madness with the simple twist of a knob. Players will find a simple three-knob layout on the Drive, and each knob is highly interactive with the rest. Like a real amp, slight nudges of each parameter often result in an inspiring new setting. The toggle switch on the face of the drive switches between different windings of the output transformer for either a high-headroom sparkle (Bold) or a high-gain blast of overtones (Rich). An expression jack on the rear of the pedal allows for hands-free control of the Gain knob, letting users dial in several amp settings on the fly. Like the Supro Boost and Fuzz pedals, the Drive is precision-engineered, designed and built in the USA.
