Grab your geeTar and stretch out those fingers … this Lick is a great example of how Jimmy “fills in” those blank spaces in a Pentatonic scale with some great note choices and moving patterns and shapes. This is very similar to how guys like Guthrie Govan and Scott Henderson use chromatic notes to play “in between” scale tones. This is a frequently used technique and with your unique phrasing style you will never sound “just like the next guy” … which is the goal!
