No one does solid state amps like Quilter Amplification! Pat Quilter just seems to have the know-how to make a solid state amp that sounds and FEELS as good as a tube amp. I've always admired his work and now I've got one: the brand new DirectAmp!
You may take a look at the DirectAmp and think "that's a pedal". And yes, it is a pedal...but it's not a pedal...or at least calling it a pedal sells the capabilities of the DirectAmp short. At it's core, this has the Quilter mojo but it expands into being something that can serve as the centerpiece of a direct guitar sound AND your stereo D.I. box. It's quite impressive but does it sound good? I think it does but you can be the judge.
