The Old Timer is a collection of tried and true effects that pair extremely well and each has been given the Thorpy FX treatment using high quality components and custom modifications to take you beyond its Hendrix-inspired foundation.
First in the chain is an octave up fuzz or Octavia that uses an internal transformer and select transistors for a dynamic effect that provides classic bell-like clang all the way to thick, blooming fuzz thanks to its octave Lift switch. Next in line their Tacit Blue, a “vintage reimagined” germanium Fuzz Face that is the ultimate pedal for vol cleanup and warmth. Along with its Smooth and Bias controls, the versatility of this fuzz is cemented by an internal transformer to allow it to see the correct impedance and thus be placed and routed anywhere in your chain. The third effect is Thorpy’s own take on the Univibe, the ER-2 (Block2 version) complete with footswitchable Chorus/Vibrato and Exp input for the Rate. The flexible routing on the rear lets you play in the normal order shown, insert effects in between or re-route their order with just a few patch cables.
