My take:
You don't see TOO many dedicated EQ pedals on boards these days... but they are actually very useful little tone shapers, live or in the studio. This one from Fromel is a 3 band EQ - with low and high shelves, and a sweepable mid. Additionally, you can switch the mid control to a low shelf as well to really push the bottom end. Since it's also an active EQ circuit, if you boost enough level you can push your amp into overdrive, making it useful as a boost as well. Check one out for yourself!
