A little bit of an ornery one here. I've been really digging the Les Paul blues sounds lately. I've been a fender guy most of my days, but a set neck mahogany double humbucker guitar just has a voice that is so much more muscular and well, les paul - ish. I can't afford one and am frankly very intimidated about the questions of quality control issues with Gibson brand Les Paul's. I just can't shell out $2000 for a guitar period, let alone to have to fish through the bunch for a winner if they're going to be hit or miss.
I'm using a Michael Kelly Patriot Custom, a fantastic guitar that I've really liked a lot. I'm playing through Guitar RIg 3's Marshall amp simulation. It sounds killer with the kelly.
One final note, I don't know how to play anything but blues...I once did, but then I forgot.
