Welcome back to Friends Pick Friday! Today we have Kara Hesse in the shop, a wonderful singer/songwriter originally from Wichita, KS who grew up in Boulder, CO and now finds home here in WA! In addition to her music, she makes beautiful jewelry under the name Roadworn, and is just an incredible person to spend time around. She's opened for the late B.B. King at Red Rocks Amphitheatre alongside Al Green and Buddy Guy, and the Steve Miller Band back in 2015.
Kara has a new album out called SOJOURNER, and you can find physical copies of the album (along with Roadworn) on her website at www.karahesse.com - but you can definitely find her music on Spotify as well. Be sure to follow her on Instagram/Twitter @karahesse and check out her youtube channel as well!
Kara performed three songs from the album today - "Old Fire" (1955 Telecaster), "Love Made Me" (Taylor 814-CEN), and "Burnout" (Martin D-42JC).
For the gearheads out there, today we're sitting Kara down with a variety of instruments - a beautiful 2011 Taylor 814-CEN classical, the elusive 1998 Martin Limited Edition Johnny Cash D-42JC, a 1965 Fender Princeton Reverb, and an incredible 1955 Fender Telecaster that just landed in the shop!
