Dan takes Martin's little dark horse, the 00-17S, through the hoops in today's Quick Riff. Small, but expressive, the 00-17S conjures up visions of rolling prairie, mist-wreathed mountain tops and rainy afternoons on the back screen-porch.

This Grand Concert model comes in a striking black smoke finish with ivoroid binding. Don’t let the size fool you, this guitar projects and resonates beautifully. A Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fingerboard and bridge.
