Welcome back to ProGuitarShop.com, we’re diving back into the Eye See Pi from Wren and Cuff. Let’s talk Tone Bypass. If there’s one complaint about vintage Muff circuits, it’s the tone control. The components in this circuit leave a noticeably uneven frequency response as is, and most players had to leave it at noon or close to it in order to retain the low end. The Tone Bypass circuit completely circumvents this circuit, causing the gain stage before it to slam into the recovery stage at the end of the circuit. This results in a much more mid-enhanced tone, perfect for a different flavor during a solo, heavy riff or dynamic chordwork. The Tone Bypass on old Muffs dramatically increase the volume, but Wren and Cuff has engineered the Eye See Pi to remain at the same volume level when the switch is engaged, so you don’t need to reconfigure your entire rig to use it. This no fuss, alternate voicing is a must hear if you're looking to layer another track in the studio or want a new flavor of lead. Best of all, Wren and Cuff is known for its painstaking recreations and revisions of all things Muff, so no pedal leaves HQ without sounding like a million bucks.
