This early custom color Olympic White '61 Jazzmaster is all original with the exception of the replacement switch tip. When it was first manufactured the body was given the standard yellow stain undercoat and an Olympic White finish and no additional clearcoat. The Olympic White finish has not been tampered with since it left the factory in 1961. The maple neck has been sanded on the back as so many of these guitars have been and features a slim C profile, Brazilian slab rosewood fretboard, clay dot inlays, Kluson Deluxe tuners and a 25.5" scale length. The pickups are the original black back pre-CBS single coils. The neck joint features a pencil date of 7/61. The electronics are original dating to the 26th week of 1961. The slider switch has had its solder joints touched up.
Other features include the tortoise pickguard and floating tremolo bridge. This Jazzmaster comes with not one but TWO trem arms, one of which has been rounded for a better grip. Lucky for you!
This guitar comes with its original blonde hard shell case!
