A holy grail dreadnaught: the 1940 Martin D-28. This pre-war beauty is a stunning instrument and one of the cleanest we’ve ever seen! It has a lovely Adirondack Spruce top and Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, and is in very good condition with only minor play wear, dings and scratches. Fresh neck reset, refret and bridge reglue all expertly done by Mark Tossman, making this one an excellent player for many years to come. This guitar has a big powerful tone with a huge low end and woodiness that you only find in a great vintage instrument. The midrange is clear and open and the top end sings with brilliant overtones. Today we have Jay going over the details before handing the guitar off to Dan Phelps for a demo!
