When it debuted in 2019, Nashville-based psych-pop outfit The Medium’s bright and breezy first album, “Get It While It’s Hot” may have shown how well they knew their way around writing a pop song, as individuals. But, with their sophomore LP, “For Horses,” the four-piece shows off their ability to sharpen the song on the record together, as a group—even after they’ve moved out of the house they were all living in together.
With a knack for navigating the spaces between vintage tones and modern soundscapes, The Medium trotted north from Tennessee to record this Sunday’s CME Session in Chicago and give us a sampling of some of their latest songs.
