Tony Zemaitis built his first guitar in 1955 and has built guitars for such notable artists as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Ron Wood, Keith Richards, Joe Walsh, and many others. Zemaitis guitars are characterized by their metal or pearl tops which help reduce hum and extend the guitar's frequency range.
This particular guitar was built for his good friend and fellow guitar maker/player Teye. Teye of course went on to make guitars that are obvious tributes to what Tony mastered over the years. This guitar includes letters and photos and all correspondence (photo copies) between Tony and Teye during the build process of this guitar. It also adorns a custom "Teye" engraved truss rod cover and Danny O'Brien engraved Bridge, Tailpiece, and Pickup Rings. There are also detailed drawings from Teye directing Zemaitis as to what Teye's "dream" guitar was. There is a picture of Teye personally receiving this guitar from Tony Zemaitis. And a letter from Teye to Tony after receiving the guitar, exclaiming that it was "perfect" If you are interested in more information on these letters and correspondence please contact us at sales@austinguitarhouse.com.
The guitar you hear in this vid is this Zemaitis Pearl Front played by Ray Kainz, plugged into a Carr Rambler amp head into a Universal Audio OX Box then into a Zoom H5 digital recorder.
