The VFE Rainbows, Unicorns, Puppies Ultimate Triumvirate is taking multiband distortion to a whole new level. It splits your signal into three paths: lows, mids, and highs, and allows you to control the level and gain of each band before they are recombined. The small black knobs control the crossover point for each band.
It also has 3 effects loops, a pre/post switch for the loops, symmetrical and asymmetrical compression, clean blend, and a mids only footswitch which turns off the lows and highs. The production model will arrive fall/winter of 2014. This is seriously awesome stuff - especially for us bass players.

2011 ESP Horizon NT-II with a 59 and Duncan Invader in the bridge
The Amp:
Vintage 1967 Fender Showman head into a Mesa 4x12 cabinet with V30's. A touch of reverb is added.
Speaker was mic'd with a Shure SM57.
NO eq or audio controls were added.
