This is the JHS Twin Twelve, an all-analog stompbox that replicates the classic 1963 Silvertone Model 1484, a 60-watt powerhouse of vintage tube amp tone beloved by artists ranging from Beck, to Jack White, to Coldplay. This rare and legendary amp's tonal essence has been captured by JHS in the Twin Twelve's compact enclosure using discrete transistors to mimic the valve stages of the original amplifier, with stunning results. The headroom and punch of the 1484 has been achieved with a charge pump design that allows the pedal to operate at 18 volts internally, even with an external 9v power supply, enhancing dynamics and amp-like feel. The Twin Twelve's control set includes a Master Volume, a handy feature that the original amplifier never had, a Drive knob, and a nearly exact replication of the 1484's Baxandall tone circuit, which has been tweaked slightly to afford a greater range of usability. The JHS Twin Twelve is ideal as an "always-on" preamp, a unique alternate tone, or a sweet solo booster.
