I used:
Nolly Archetype VST, Crate Electra LP with upgrades: COT-MM pickups, bone nut, pure tone jack, grover rotomatic tuners, Zaolla silver line cable.
Info from Rob:
We each used Marshall JCM800 “2210" 100 watt amps thru 2 JCM800 1960B cabs loaded with 100 watt Celestion Speakers.
I remember the cabinets were in another room set up with 2 cabs each side by side and back to back. So it would be like my 2 cabs were side by side (not stacked) facing one direction and Gus had his facing the opposite direction, his cabs and mine were literally back to back.
I used my brand new custom Jackson Signature Death Angel Prototype had stock Jackson Humbucker Pickups. The first one ever built for me by Grover Jackson and Mike Shannon back in 1989 when Grover still owned the company. I designed the body style / shape on a paper napkin, just like Randy Rhoads did for his guitar!
Other guitars were Custom Starbody had (and still has) Seymour Duncan Humbuckers in it. And 82’ Gibson Flying V.
Gus used his BC Rich Navy Blue Gunslinger w red holes in body (we nicknamed it his Swiss Cheese Guitar) with EMG 81 and 85 pickups and a Black “neck thru” custom BC Rich with EMGs.
As for pedals… if memory serves we used a Rat Distortion (or MXR?!!), Dunlop Wah, Boss Chorus, Boss Digital Delay, Boss EQ, Boss Flanger. I may have been using a Yamaha SPX 90 at that time…
Dunlop Tortex picks .88 and GHS Boomer Strings 9’s.
Gus used Taylor and Alvarez acoustics. Rob used Ovation acoustic on ACT III.
