Welcome to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today, we're inspecting the Pink Panther from JHS. The original Pink Panther was a super limited-run delay that totaled less than 100 pieces, and its reissue marks the 10-year anniversary. The latest model takes the core of the original and adds to it, adding a slew of features that greatly expands upon the first version. The delay engine of the Pink Panther is inspired by early compact digital delays by Ibanez and DOD, and is capable of up to one full second of delay time, with a host of tap tempo options and time subdivisions to take full advantage of delay range. The Pink Panther offers two modes of operation, Digital and Tape. The Digital mode gives you picture-perfect repeats, while the Tape mode adds in a little compression and preamp saturation that emulate its namesake. Both modes are governed by a set of global controls that let you wring out the tonality from the Pink Panther. Apart from standard delay Time, Repeats and Mix controls, the Pink Panther also gives you a Dark control. This knob corresponds only to the delay tone, and lets you darken the repeats, giving you legit analog emulation with a simple turn. A generous modulation circuit gives you plenty of repeats-only wobble of varying intensity. Position 1 gives you a light, shimmery chorus effect that will shine on your next ambient cut, while Position 2 generates a more psychedelic sway. And like all JHS pedals, the Pink Panther is made using primp parts by real people right here in the USA.
