Do you like fast playing, thin necks? Then read on! This Fender Custom Shop LTD American Custom Stratocaster in Desert Tan may look unassuming with its Tan Finish but man, can this thing shred! AAAA Flame Maple Neck, Hand-wound pickups, compound radius, locking tuners. Yeah, all that!
The neck made from AAAA Flame Maple. That's 4A's, people! For a teambuilt piece to get that level of awesomeness is a rarity. The neck is carved to a 63 C with a depth of .795" at the 1st fret and of .965" at the 12th fret. That's a pretty full taper for those keeping track. A compound radius of 9.5" to 12" is very subtle and very awesome. The 9.5" feels perfect for chords under the 7th fret and above it, you'll find bends go further, vibrato is easier, and extra sustain seems to come naturally.
The pickups are a set of El Diablo Single Coils that sound like the name implies. This is a great Strat for Rock and intense Blues. These pickups wanna get chippy with your amp so be prepared to back off on the volume control to get them to play nice. A Master Volume, 2 x Tone Controls, and a 5-way Switch are all present.
