We showed prototypes of our new Pedal Preamps at NAMM 2018, that we hope will be in production befre the Summer of 2018.
They are currently undergoing road testing because Martin has used a unique configuration of four valves that have not been used in a pedal design before.
We are planning for there to be three models, based on three of our existing Compact Series heads.
V4 The Countess
V4 The Sheriff
V4 Tke Kraken
All of them will have two separate gain modes, each with a master and a gain control. The idea is that you connect them to both the effects loop and input of your current amp. When bypassed you're plugged into your amp as usual. When switched on, the V4 preamp hits the effects return of your amp, defeating the preamp section so that it acts as a true, additional all-valve preamp.
For anyone who owns, for example, a V40 The Duchess but they want to add some Sheriff to the party… here's your answer.
Likewise a bit of Kraken to your Countess? Etc...
And yes, we've tested them extensively with other common valve amps with effects loops too. Hot Rod Deluxe anyone? Works a treat!
We'll update everyone with more information as and when it becomes available. But for now, we wanted you to know that they're on their way!
