Hey, it's Andy with ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com, today we’re starting the reactor with the Tonal Recall by Chase Bliss Audio. At long last, analog delay gets the Chase Bliss treatment, featuring every bell and whistle in the world of audio processing. At the analog heart of the Tonal Recall sits a clip of two new-stock MN3005 chips, the same type used in vintage BBD units since the advent of the technology. The two chips provide 550 milliseconds of delay time, though longer times are available through an internal trimmer adjustment. Three modes of delay offer true emulation of hallowed vintage units. Short mode emulates the shorter delay times of the beloved Boss DM2, while Long mode nails the tone of a vintage Deluxe Memory Man. Both mode mixes Short and Long together for a unique multi-tap mode. A full plate of six different note subdivisions paired with soft-touch tap tempo delivers a great deal of control over the delay time, and Chase Bliss’s trademark dual DIP switch bank on the rear lets players assign any parameter to the Ramp control or the expression pedal. A robust modulation section lets players dial in the right amount with respect to the selected waveform. Each Tonal Recall is equipped with two presets plus the current setting for a total of three settings, but connecting the Tonal Recall to MIDI offers up to 122 presets for your tweaking pleasure. To top it off, each Tonal Recall is hand-made to exacting standards in Minnesota, USA.
