Today we take a look at the differences between the Fulltone SupaTrem 1, ST-1 and the SupaTrem 2, ST-2. While these may have the same features set, there are some subtle differences.
Some of the differences I noticed between these 2 units.
Differences between the ST-1 and ST-2
- There is more volume boost available with the ST-1
- There is a much more abrupt cut off on the square wave on the Supa Trem 2. At full mix it is definitley like an on off switch, the ST-1 at full mix however doesn't seem like a direct on and off, but more like a ramped up throb. I actually prefer the ST-1 hard mode for choppy stuff, stutter, because it has a good pulsing feel to it.
- The sine wave on higher mix settings on the ST-2 gets a bit choppier than the full mix setting on the supa trem 1 which I prefer, probably my only complaint on the ST-1 is the subtleness of the sine wave
- The ST-2 has both slower slows and quicker high speed settings than the ST-1.
- The ST-1 has a dedicated Half Speed switch, for the ST-2 it still has the feature but you need to hold the tap tempo button
