The Xotic BB Preamp delivers crunch tones that will hit you in the gut like a baseball bat. The tones are definitely a derivative of the classic Marshall grind. Vintage Blues Breaker tones ooze out of this Xotic pedal. The extremely versatile bass and treble control give you added control, making any of the exotic pedals compatible with a variety of guitars and amplifiers. I think this pedal is the most versatile of the three. You can get anywhere from a mild boost, early Clapton tones, to AC/DC rock. The BB Preamp works very well with the RC Booster. The two are a match made in heaven. Between the two you can nail down all of your overdrive / distortion needs with a clean boost in the RC, a crunch tone with just the BB, and lead tones by combining the two. Aahhhh.... tonal bliss.

The Xotic BB Preamp will stay on the down-low, but you really have to work to keep it in it's cage. As soon as the gain gets past 12 o'clock, you will experience rich, crunchy rhythm tones and leads that will make your mouth water.
