Nick Maybury, guitarist and veteran sideman improvises some spacey synth grooves using a mix of vintage, modern and modular synthesizers, his guitar, and a gaggle of EarthQuaker Devices. Nick shows the versatility of EQD pedals by applying the Park Fuzz to a Roland SH-101, an Acapulco Gold to fatten up the bottom end, and a combination of Pyramids, Transmisser and Levitation to add movement and weirdness to the synthesized beat. “The thing with pedals is you can really push the creative boundaries of your playing,” Nick says. “You can step on one pedal and sound completely different and have so many different sounds at your feet which can inspire you to play a certain way as well.”
