PG’s Perry Bean hung with Zao’s Scott Mellinger and Martin Lunn before their Nashville gig at The End. Zao has been melting faces and inciting hardcore dances since 1993 with 10 full-length albums, four EPs, a two-disc DVD documentary, and a tour that seemingly never ends.
On fly dates Scott Mellinger tours with one guitar, his ESP E-II Eclipse DB loaded with Fishman Fluence Willie Adler pickups. Since Mellinger tunes down to drop C, and sometimes down to B, he uses LaBella .011–.052 strings.
When bringing more guitars along isn’t a logistical nightmare, Scott Mellinger also packs an ESP Eclipse II and an ESP LTD Ron Wood signature model.
Martin Lunn plays a stock Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay bass strung with LaBella .50-.110 strings. He also plays with 1.13 mm InTune guitar picks.
