This is the Rothwell Tornado, a unique overdrive pedal built on a foundation of single-ended Class A JFET circuitry. The ability of a good JFET circuit to mimic tube drive characteristics lends this pedal a very amp-like feel and tonal quality. It has controls for volume, gain, and tone, as well as a Shift button that alters the curve of the tone control, shifting between a warmer sound and a brighter, scooped response. The Rothwell Tornado has plenty of output available, enabling it to be used very effectively as a clean boost with the gain down. With gain up it can also push an overdriven amp into very high gain territory while maintaining tonal clarity and note definition. The Rothwell Tornado is made in Great Britain and features True Bypass switching and high quality, low-noise components.
