Most people use Ruby Red Booster as a boost after drive pedals to increase the volume for solos. Also using the treble boost(with now added mids in the custom version) you can make your solo tone cut really well. But you can get wonderful drive out of the pedal itself too and here is a clip how the pedal distorts!
