Boys & Girls, welcome back to Day #6 of 30 Pedals in 30 Days.
I'm excited to show you the P1 by AMT Electronics. This is a monster sized & designed pre-amp in disguise as a pedal! Under the hood, you have a design which was based on Eddie Van Halen's Peavey 5150 Amp. Yes, this pedal was designed to sound just like that amp. You can read about it here : http://amtelectronicsusa.com/productpagep1.html.
Not only that ... there are VERY cool features going on here.
#1 - This is a PREAMP, and is designed to run into (a) a Power Amp, (b) a FX RTN of an amp or (c) direct to a mixing board. Given the size, for all intense and purposes, you can have a high gain 5150 pre-amp sounding box that fits easily into your guitar case! How killer is that?
There are ZERO effects used in this video, so it may sound a bit dry. Add a bit of flanger, and reverb, and I think you'll be in EVH land.
LASTLY - Don't forget ... In celebration of 2011's 30 Pedals in 30 Days Marathon ... You can win a Line 6 Stompbox Modeler. Details here : http://thetoneking.com/wp/gear-give-away/dec10-line6-m13/
