Good Old War is not insulted by the words "radio friendly," a term critics ascribed to its new album Broken Into Better Shape, which marks a shift to a fuller sound for the Philadelphia duo.
For their AG Session, Keith Goodwin and Dan Schwartz stripped down to just guitar, vocals, and hand percussion and performed three excellent songs off their recent album: “Tell Me What You Want From Me,” "Small World," and "Broken Into Better Shape."
Schwartz tells us about his favorite guitars, including a Guild that his aunt gifted him when he was eight. He also discusses the band's approach to songwriting on the new record—their fourth—saying they aimed to have "each song lives in its own little world."
