The cab modeling on the HD500 leaves some to be desired, especially in light of recent high end IR trends. But with a power amp like the Matrix GT800FX you can skip the sub optimal cabs and inability to load third party IRs and just use your own cabs.
In this video I go through my core Marshall and Fender tones on the HD500 with the cabinet disabled into a Matrix GT800FX into my 1x12 cabinet with a WGS ET-65 speaker mic'd with a Shure SM57.
