This is just the conclusion I've personally come to, based on my own experience over the last few years. I am NOT a professional musician or making money from playing music in ANY way, so my point of view is TAINTED by that. Take everything you hear and see with a grain of salt. Keep what applies to you. This just happens to make sense to me for many reasons I can continue on about. But I'll let the debate rage in the comments section. Have fun.
