The dual-engine ECHOSYSTEM is a mountain of a machine that can conjure up sonic territory ranging from a closet to the Siberian Steppes. We're talking 36+ algorithms that can cover pretty much every conceivable delay type and peripheral effect (tremolo, reverb, pitch shifting...) including some you may not have even imagined. The ECHOSYSTEM is vast and inspiring.
In this video I try to pack in as many of the algorithms (and presets) as I can in under 12 minutes. Some algorithms deserve longer outings (which they'll get later) but most are at least sampled. Amp-wise, I've used two combos: Marshall Bluesbreaker and VASE Tonesetter 18, both housing G12M speakers; in stereo, panned at 9:00 and 3:00 o'clock respectively. It was a BIG sound in my little room!
The guitar is an early 90's Japanese Charvel CX291 Strat that has THE best neck profile. The pickups were terrible, though, so I chucked them out and put a 4Seasons Guy Smeets set in it. Now it's one of my favourite axes - and so cheap!
I used my old Mbox 3 Pro as recording interface/preamp (to Logic Pro X) and mixed/bounced using an Axe-FX XL+. sE Electronics V3 and Shure SM57 microphones were used near-centre to record the amps.
I'll do make some more specific demos on the Echosystem later on; for instance, the Tape Delay section deserves its own video, and most of the other algorithms do too. Lots to cover!
Ciao.
