TEASER ALERT!!!
So we have been working on some Rockett guitars for a couple of years now. The premise was to create a working man's guitar. We of course have a fondness for the 80's and some of the instruments that were created back then but unfortunately nobody wants a pepto-bismol pink guitar with a pointy headstock.
That being said, I personally owned an original "San Dimas" era Charvel and that has always been my best playing instrument. However, we wanted a guitar that could pull off the acrobatic player techniques but also satisfy a blues player etc.
The relic job was actually an idea from Jay Rockett in that when it is already beat up you don't worry about it so much and can go nuts, ding it up further with no harm or foul. We understand some people don't like a reliced guitar but it is true, not having to worry about dinging up your $5k plus Les Paul is a relief. Like we said, a working man's guitar.
When we started going down this path we figured why not find the guy who invented the San Dimas era guitars. As luck would have it Grover Jackson recently moved back to TN and has his new shop rocking and rolling. This has been quite a project because as easy as the idea might sound the execution was a bit tedious. Grover allowed us to select his best woods to make these things as authentic to a real "Strat" tone as we could. Really the whole idea was to re-create a 1956 Strat sound but make the guitar play like a San Dimas era Charvel. It took a few iterations. Now, us being big EVH fans we wanted to make sure that the Floyd Rose was "slammable" which is not exactly easy. You give up the ability to float the bridge but by having it slammed it aids in a couple of areas. One being simple tone, it resonates like you have never heard but also if you break a string you don't have to worry about it going out of tune. if setup correctly. Mick Hayes (star of the video) who is a great player is exactly the type of player we aimed to impress since he is all blues! His words were "it truly feels like a vintage instrument" and it really does. We even had the neck pickup placed at the 24th fret like vintage and I must admit, the neck pickup is stunning on these guitars. In fact, all of the pickups sound as good as we have ever heard. There are two push/push pots that allow you to split the humbucker and one to engage the humpbucker in combo with any other pickup. This allows for more sounds and you can turn on all of the pickups together all at once.
We have only built 24 of these so the attention to each instrument was on point! We will have more details and specs to come but what is available in general are a few combos of woods, color, neck etc. Only two colors available and that is black or white but all models are painted over a triple sunburst and then reliced. Here is what is available.
White model
1. White, Alder body, Rosewood neck
2. White, Alder body, maple neck

Basically, you have 3 of each combo so they are pretty limited. If there is an ongoing interest we will build more and we will entertain more traditional stuff but these particular guitars are off the charts good!
If you have any interest please email me chris@rockettpedals.com nothing is up on the site yet but we are working on photos and videos. FYI, many of them have been pre-sold so let me know your preference of color and woods and if it is still available I will let you know. I will supply pricing via email as we move along but that has not been set in stone just yet.
Oh and how bout that Ebo amp? so good but he made it for me after I hounded him for a year......you may want to hound him as well - http://www.ebocustoms.com Eric Borash
We will have more info, more videos and more of more over the next few weeks. Welcome to 2024!
