In this video I take a look at a noisy buzzing AA1164 Princeton Reverb amp clone I built a few years back. It has developed a noise problem. Especially if you turn up the reverb control.
My troubleshooting process involves isolating variables (swapping in tubes, checking a different speaker, reverb tank). I test voltages. I check the schematic.
For this issue I would focus on a few ideas:
1) Good tubes
2) Good reverb tank
3) Shielded cables to the reverb tank
4) Better grounding
